On Sunday 3rd October, The Beer House in Ipswich will be playing host to a
charity music day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The event is being
organised by Paul Felton, who's mum, Gill, died of a brain tumour in late
2008.
The day promises to provide a diverse range of bands and solo-artists performing everything from soulful ballads to high-octane pub rock. Already
on the bill are Norwich-based 'Scumbag Philosopher', who will be performing
their odd yet still strangely catchy kind of post-punk racket. Signed to
Words on Music label, and with UK and European radio airplay already under
their belt, their debut album is due later this year.
Another band likely to draw a crowd are Ten2Two who will be making their
final performance. Expect to hear all your favourite rock covers, from Hendrix and Cream to Queen, Gun's & Roses, AC/DC, Bon Jovi and Metallica.
Other acts include the talented Reb Capper (quirky singer-songwriter), Rich
Girling (80s-style electro pop), Simon Lambert (humourous singer-songwriter), "Milk no sugar" (cheesy pop duo), and Will Hessey's
(Subway/The Bronsons/DWB) new outfit "The Dukes of New York".
The event runs from 3pm until late, admission is free but donations to Macmillan will be gratefully received. If you can't attend but would like
to make a donation, you can do so by visiting www.justgiving.com/paulfelton.
